A Haunting In Salem – Movie Review

A Haunting In Salem

Plot: The new town sheriff moves into a large creepy old house with his family. It seems that in the town of Salem there’s a special house for the sheriff to live in gratis. Unfortunately it’s haunted by witches that have a strong craving for sheriff’s blood.

My Thoughts: This movie, I don’t even know where to begin. First let me say this, yes I realize that it is an Asylum film, and they don’t make the most quality movies in the world because they don’t have the largest budget. Honestly though, you should have saved the money and put it towards something useful. (Mega Piranha 2?Anyone?)

The acting in this movie is absolutely horrid, “Oh shit, someone hung themselves in our yard? Does anyone want some sandwiches?” The facial expressions, are so cheesy and so tacky, and then there are some scenes in this movie that make near to no sense at all, the good ol’ boiling my face in water scene, fantastic.

I wish there were more positive things to say about this movie but there really is only one thing that has any sort of quality and that is the makeup, the dead in this movie look really good.  But like I said, that really is the only thing that is good about this movie.

I don’t want to continue bashing this movie, I just want to know if it was made for a sort of camp value, or as a drinking game, because honestly it seems that is the only thing that this movie would be good for.

I give this movie a 2 out of 5. Even though there is not much to speak highly of, the quality of this movie gives you something good to laugh about.
